Flowerless Sago Palm Blooms 1972
This violin solo piece is adapted
from a Soprano song. The story behind the song is that a PLA medical team
successfully used traditional Chinese acupuncture to help deaf-mute
patients regain their listening ability. Those patients' ability to speak
is analogized to a thousand-year-old flowerless sago palm finally
blooming. The music depicts the excitement and joy when they first hear
sound.
